For gnomon workshop topic plague-

Thursday, November 4, 2010

I finally got a little bit of time to myself today, so I decided to throw out a piece. This one is of some boys playing cowboys and indians- once again I am messing with storytelling and trying to tell little stories with everything I am doing. Hope everyone enjoys and let me know if I can do something to make the picture better

I was able to take a little more time with this one and I think it shows a little. Let me know what you all think please!

An idea I had while watching my girls play. hope you all enjoy!

Monday, September 13, 2010

This was a quick illustration about summer and how as a kid you thought anything was possible, like strapping on some junk and assuming that it would make you fly. You know, the good ol' days before reality forced itself into your life.

This is me taking a break from zombies to keep trying more narrative illustration. Please let me know what you all think I can do to improve. Thanks!

Thursday, August 26, 2010

Trying to create more narrative in my illustrations- this one has to do with elementals fighting. It is not done yet, but I figured I would post what the characters looked like while I finish the piece.

So here is round two of the redo.

A while ago, I wrote a short story comic. I painted it traditionally and was somewhat satisfied with some of the results. As I kept thinking about it, I decided that I would like to try making it digitally. So, I finally started (with a random page mind you). Here is the side by side comparison of my little comic book. Tell me what you think and stay tuned... more to come! ps- the scan of the original painting came out really light.. I promise it is darker in reality!

This is an image I submitted to Gnomon workshop for their 2d art challenge- "Ye rustic inn". I wanted to create a warmth at the inn that the outside world didnt have- a safe haven if you will- for adventurer and common folk alike.

Just for fun I decided to put a crazy bground behind her- she is so calm, I had to do something out of the ordinary! 3rd time using photoshop!

this one is for a tshirt

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

all done- for this one i had to use vector 3-d shapes. The rifle he is holding is almost all done in 3-d.

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

This is my second attempt at vector illustration. It was time consuming (mostly just because I am not entirely familiar with all the tools and how to properly use them yet) but I think this came out pretty good. Crits are always welcome.

Friday, April 30, 2010

This is my first illustration using illustrator. This guy is called a "big daddy" from the game Bioshock. I darkened him a little bit more per my critique, but will continue to work on him. Let me know what you all think.

I did this while thinking about Icarus. I dont know why but this is one of my favorite paintings. Something about the anatomy and the look on his face that I just have fun with.
This was yet another painting I decided to do in October. It was pretty fun.
It was halloween, so I painted this.
This is an old image i did in an old style. This was back when I used crowquill for my ink instead of my brushes. For whatever reason my crowquill always leaked. After that, I decided to ditch the crowquill and use a brush instead.
This was the first painting I did in this style. Someday I will have to go back in and fix up the talk balloon in Illustrator.
